PVMTI INVESTMENTS
PVMTI investments seek to prove the viability of a number of different business models, ranging from partnerships with industrial players to leverage an existing distribution network to joint ventures between PV companies and finance institutions to provide credit for solar customers. In some cases, PVMTI is also providing financial backing to some exciting new applications of PV technology. A graphical presentation of the investments can be accessed here.

PVMTI Investment: US$4 million
Project Summary: Expansion of a network of Shell Solar Centres in Southern India and establishment of a credit scheme for end users in partnership with local financial institutions.
SREI International Finance
PVMTI Investment: US$3.5 million
Project Summary: Introduction of a credit scheme for PV customers in West Bengal.
Selco India
PVMTI Investment: US$ 1.1 million
Project Summary: Expansion of SELCO solar centers in Southern India and strengthening of end user credit schemes program with local financial institutions.
Shri Shakti Alternative Energy
PVMTI Investment: US$2.2 million
Project Summary: Expansion of a network of “Energy Stores” in Southern India, selling PV and other alternative energy products.

Muramati Tea Growers SACCO
PVMTI Investment: US$ 0.6 million
Project Summary: Provision of loans to Muramati members to purchase PV Systems.
Equity Bank
PVMTI Investment: US $ 2.1 million
Project Summary: Provision of loans to entrepreneurs for solar PV operating in the SME sector.
Barclays Bank of Kenya
PVMTI Investment: US$ 2 million
Project Summary: Provision of loans to KUSCCO member SACCO's for on-lending to members to purchase PV Systems.
